The 2010 Clydesdale Bank 40 tournament is the inaugural Clydesdale Bank 40 limited overs cricket competition for the England and Wales first-class counties. In addition to the 18 first-class counties, Scotland and the Netherlands take part, as well as the Unicorns cricket team, formed of players who do not have first-class contracts.[1]
The competition consists of three groups of seven teams, from which the top team from each group, and the next best team across all groups, progresses to the semi-finals.[1]
